Amber Bakery & Catering features Caribbean cuisine with a touch of French and Italian flair. The restaurant and bakery seeks to give customers a taste of the Caribbean and leave them longing for more.
Joycelyn Roberts began cooking at an early age. Roberts lived in Guadeloupe for three years to learn the language and cuisine before moving to the US and earning her degree in Hospitality Management from NYC Technical College.
Roberts sells Caribbean fruit cakes, international cakes and pastries. The Caribbean pastries are very unique with a lot of tropical flavors. Amber Bakery & Catering uses as many Caribbean ingredients as can be found in North Carolina. Meals include roti with curry, coo-coo, cod fish and other Caribbean dishes.
Amber Bakery & Catering currently operates on an order-by-order basis, with hopes of opening a store front in 2011.
