The Robert E. Lee Society is a historical, benevolent, non-political civic organization. We use our funds to support historical preservation projects and local community charities.
Our members are all geneology/Amercian Civil War history buffs. Some of our members enjoy Civil War re-enacting, and as a "historical preservation association" we enjoy studying the Civil War and take pride in honoring our ancestors who sacrificed so much in order for Americans to enjoy the freedoms and way of life that they have today. Community services include cleaning old/abandoned graveyards, participating in living history re-enactments, presenting programs to Lee County Schools' history classes, and cleaning the sites of the North Carolina Monument and the Longstreet Monument at Gettysburg, PA.
Monthly meetings are held at local restaurants.
